The Alvin J.  McKenzie Scholarship Fund—also known as the Alvin J.  McKenzie Scholarship Endowment—is a financial aid program established at Springfield College in memory of Alvin “Big Joe” McKenzie, a diligent immigrant from Jamaica who earned his bachelor’s degree in 1992 and passed away in 2007. Led by his son Amaricko (Ricky) McKenzie and the McKenzie family, this scholarship honors Alvin’s deep commitment to education, family, and community .
